Sounds of The Monday Night Blues Jam

Note: Our intention with the sound clips is simply to provide an audio sample of how great these musicians are, so that you’ll be encouraged to attend and support them at the Blues Jam as well as their personal gigs. These are by no means professional recordings, and are not intended for downloading or redistribution. Thanks!

What do you get when you combine 10 musicians from different bands jamming to a George Jackson classic? Just listen to this sample from 11/17/08!

This is “Still Called the Blues” and features Big Rick Alstork on vocals. As you can hear, not only is Big Rick a great singer, he’s a master when it comes to interacting with the crowd and with the other musicians.

Also you’ll hear Danny Wilder on guitar, Scotty Gerardy on saxophone, Dirty Red on trumpet, Ryan on trumpet (sorry Ryan I’ve forgotten your last name, email me and I’ll fix it), Reggie Metcalf on guitar (that’s him with the wah-wah), Stan Hoffman playing the hell out of the keyboard (Stan can you take me back to church!), Ted Lindsay on bass, Ron Petitt on drums and Jonathan Merla on congas.

For the best effect, listen through headphones with the volume cranked up, and imagine what it’s like to be there in person!
